Journey to Manhood 002: Mufaro Muneri

It’s a bloody confusing time to be a man right now, with mixed messages coming from every direction. So alongside creating high-quality products, our goal for STUFF is to support men as they navigate a new era of masculinity so that we can create a movement of men living a life of connection, purpose and positive impact.

In this series we’re calling Journey to Manhood, we ask some of our mates about their experiences becoming a man.

Journey to Manhood - 002
Mufaro (Muf) Muneri, 28
Teacher and Facilitator
Melbourne

Q1: When did you become a man?

To me the moment I felt like I became a man was when I went to boarding school in year 10 in Brisbane. It was a pretty scary experience the first few months being away from mum and dad and not having the support being in the same country as them. Being a boarder really made me step up to become a man, do my washing, making sure I do my homework and understanding how to look after myself.

Q2: If you really knew me, you’d know that….

I really get anxious before meeting my mates or meeting new people

Q3: Tell us about a time when you had absolutely no idea what to do.

For me it was when I first moved back to Melbourne after school. I was very lost and didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career and really was in a dark place.

Q4: The man I am becoming is…..

a shoulder for people to cry on and ears for people to share what’s happening in their life.
